TRAINING
At Oak and Elm Tree we believe in using science-based methods and techniques in everything we do. Our goal is to use positive reinforcement to help you and your dog learn to work as a team to accomplish your goals. We'll help you communicate and build a relationship with your dog - your dog is part of your family and we believe they should be treated and loved that way!

Group Classes
We offer a variety of group classes, kept small with no more than 5 dogs per class.

Group Classes
Dogs 2 years and under are required to be current (as age appropriate) on Rabies and Distemper vaccinations. Bordetella is also recommended. Dogs over 2 years old are required to be current on Rabies.

Puppy Class
Ages: 8 weeks-5 months
Socialization with other puppies and people
Foundational behaviors such as walking on leash, leave it, and appropriate greetings
Getting comfortable with both vet and grooming visits
Set up for puppy attention spans and skills

Canine Adolescent Survival
Ages: 6 months - 18 months
Setting appropriate boundaries for your dog
Improving impulse control to decrease bad choices
Learn ways to have fun while practicing good behavior
Set up for adolescent attention spans and skills

Foundational Behaviors
Ages: 6 months and up
Foundational behaviors such as stay, leave it, and walking on leash
Great for adult dogs and a good class to repeat
Perfect for all skill levels of dogs and humans
Set up for adult dog attention spans

Intermediate Behaviors Ages: 7 months and up
Build on the foundational behaviors and learn how to take them to the next level
A good step for dogs looking at taking the Canine Good Citizen test
Challenge yourself and your dog with a higher difficulty level
Confidence Building Ages: any age!
Created for dogs that lack confidence who struggle with everyday life
Learn how to work as a team to help your dog explore and become more comfortable in our world

Special class for special people!
Created for people that need a unique environment to succeed in a dog training class.
Geared towards people that may have specific sensory, mental, or physical needs.
We want everyone to have the opportunity to bond with their dog through some fun training
Class material will be determined after assessing each human’s needs for the class
Private Training
Private, one-on-one sessions are also offered. There are package options to suit various needs and goals.
There are a few options for private sessions:

mini sessions at the salon to work on cooperative care
Puppy Day Training
Our Puppy Day Training Program is a half day training session with one-on-one work between the puppy and the trainer. The program is to introduce many foundational behaviors, socialize the puppy to new things and puppy-friendly adult dogs, build confidence, and prepare the puppy to live in our human world.
The program is customizable to each puppy and their human in terms of number of half days and behaviors taught/addressed
